JMU: we're kind of a big deal

JMU just won it's first NCAA IAA national football championship ever. Duke Dog is tearing up the competition in the Capital One Mascot Challenge. And unless I get kicked out, which is never far from happening, I'll be attending the university for 2 and half to 3 more years....great.
The championship game was impressive, the season was impressive, votedukedog.com is impressive, this being my fifth semester on academic probation is impressive, but really this update despite the title and first paragraph has little to do with JMU.
Because I was watching JMU dismantle Montana on ESPN2, I was unable to watch what I had been looking forward to all night, Popeye: The Quest for Pappy, the new CGI animated Popeye cartoon that aired tonight on FOX.
Appparently the DVD came out in November, so I guess I can just go rent it, but I didn't even know of its existence until I came home for the holidays and saw the feature on the cover of the star ledger tv listing insert thingamahooch.
Now I like Popeye, the cartoons are great, the movie with Robin Williams was pefectly cartoonish, but it's not even that I've ever been a huge Popeye fan, I'd rather watch Tom and Jerry on mute with my playlist softly crooning in my ear, but for some reason I was really set on watching this all week.
Since I've been home, I've been working and watching tv and sleeping, theres some driving and eating and ironing of business type clothes involved and some miscellaneous bathroom time as well, but really the only things that I had in my mental calendar, were 1. Watch Popeye 2. Go to the Jets game Sunday 3. Christmas Shopping 4. Get a Godforsaken Haircut 5. Try to avoid getting a cold for the holidays, because that would be miserable.
I have this popeye figurine in my room, that sits on my desk and I bought it a while back because it was Popeye in a Boondock Saints type Pea Coat, and I like Pea Coats...anyway last weekend after the JMU semi-final win, when I was beyond messed up and before I had any inkling about the existence of the special, I took some pictures trying to emulate it for no apparent reason...
